Coronation Street’s Peter Barlow comes to blows with Dr Thorne on the ITV soap next week as the pair continue to lock horns following his surgery.
The Corrie cabbie (Chris Gascoyne) has turned his life around after overcoming his addiction battle with alcohol, but the evil surgeon has been testing his patience on the soap lately.
The situation on the cobbles took a turn after Peter learned that surgeon Dr Henry Thorne (Dominic Mafham) had rushed his liver operation as part of a bet, leaving him understandably furious.
He launched an official complaint against the medical practitioner, but then undermined himself when he was goaded into punching Dr Thorne in the face.
Viewers were then left shocked when Peter's other half Carla Connor (Alison King) tried to patch things up with Dr Thorne, only for him to ask her out to dinner in exchange for him dropping the assault charges against Peter.
ITV spoilers have now revealed that the bad blood between Peter and Dr Thorne reaches a fever-pitch on the soap next week as the doctor bribes him.
In scenes next week, Dr Thorne is still trying to bribe Peter into going along with whatever he asks by offering him £100,000.
Peter's wife Carla is well aware of the surgeon’s scheming and asks Peter to keep his wits about him.
But his son Simon (Alex Bain) points out that the whopping sum of money could change their lives for good and solve their issues.
Peter weighs out the pros and cons and begins to waver, while Thorne watches on during their exchange.
When meeting up with nurse Tricia, Peter is given a final push towards the option to give up the fight as she makes him realise she can no longer offer any new evidence.
Whether Peter decides to take Dr Thorne's money remains to be seen, but then in later scenes the two men bump into each other and all bets are off.
Dr Thorne orders Peter not to undo all of his skilled work and as he’s getting into his car, Peter’s rage bubbles over and he angrily confronts the surgeon, hauling him up against the hood of his car.
Peter has already been on the wrong side of the law after punching Dr Thorne in a restaurant on the cobbles during an earlier episode.
Could things between the surgeon and the Weatherfield driver escalate even further?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
