Coronation Street's Abi Webster is set to receive help from her estranged husband Kevin Webster on the soap next week, as she faces more danger after her shock baby twist.
Abi inadvertently caused trouble for Kevin by getting back in touch with her dodgy friend Dean Turnbull to the cobbles to help feed her drug addiction.
Dean stole a car from Kevin's garage, which now threatens the reputation of the business and in Wednesday’s episode, Tyrone Dobbs confronts Abi about the theft, warning the garage's future is at risk unless they can retrieve the stolen vehicle.
Desperate not to cause Kevin more upset, Abi spots a BMW and hatches a plan.
She calls Dean and meets him at his lock-up, allowing him to inspect the BMW and letting him believe that he can have it.
But meanwhile, Abi discreetly calls the police to report the original stolen car - only for Dean to overhear her double-cross, and his angry reaction leaves her in serious danger.
Later, a worried Toyah Battersby calls Abi's phone, only for a paramedic to answer and explain that Abi has been involved in an accident.
ITV spoilers now reveal that the Abi drama will continue to unfold and spool out across the cobbles as the story hits the Gazette pages.
The drama kicks off on Wednesday, March 16, when Abi hits headlines, leaving Debbie demanding answers as she assumes the baby is Kevin’s.
While Abi hurries out, explaining the baby is having an operation, she is left stunned when Kevin later appears at the hospital.
As Abi waits for news about the newborn, Kevin walks down the hospital corridor and takes his estranged wife in his arms as Abi breaks down.
Kevin assumes the baby is the result of her one night stand with Tez and Abi goes along with the lie.
The nurse then confirms that Alfie’s operation went well and Kevin offers to let her stay at No 13 until she’s won custody, giving Abi hope.
Sally Carman, who plays Abi, opened up about the shock pregnancy twist in a recent interview, noting that the baby is called Alfie, after Seb's favourite teddy bear.
She said: “This is why Abi is so brilliant – regardless of everything in her life telling her to just forget it because she's not going to succeed, her heart instantly opens to this child. It's not even in her control – straight away she loves him.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
