Coronation Street’s Kelly Neelan is left devastated next week amid her exciting engagement news on the ITV soap, as she makes a shock discovery about her dad’s death.
Loan shark Rick, played by Greg Wood, terrorised the residents of Weatherfield during his short stint on the cobbles back in 2019.
Among those tormented by Rick was Gary, who he attempted to kill by luring him out to the woodland and claiming that he had Sarah, who was his girlfriend at the time.
Gary had discovered a grave, which Rick had dug in a plan to bury him after killing him, with a furious fight ensuing between the pair, with it later emerging that Gary had killed Rick.
The loan shark went 'missing' and Gary took over the loan shark business, with Rick's daughter Kelly and wife Laura believing that he was on the run from the police.
However, in scenes that aired earlier this year, Kelly was left horrified when she learned her father's dead body had finally been discovered after three years.
ITV spoilers have now revealed that the fallout from the discovery continues to ricochet next week as Kelly celebrates her engagement to Aadi.
In scenes set to air next Friday, Kelly demands answers from Gary on the ITV soap after Sharon decides to visit after news of Kelly’s engagement.
Gary is left ill at ease when Sharon turns up under an to celebrate Kelly’s news – he then begs her not to ruin Kelly’s life by revealing he killed her dad.
But when Aadi lets slip about Kelly’s kidnap ordeal, and then Kelly asks Gary to give her away at the wedding, Sharon is horrified.
Meanwhile, Kelly receives a holdall of her mum’s things which she left in Spain and as she scrolls through a digital camera, she’s shocked to see the holiday dated as 17th June 2019 – the date her Dad was murdered.
Returning home Kelly shows Gary the photos, asserting she wants to know who really killed her dad. Is the game up for Gary?
This comes as Kelly will be leaving the ITV soap this month as actress Millie Gibson has decided to depart the role after three years.
