Corrie spoilers: Amy Barlow's drink spiked by mystery 'predator' as secret boyfriend exposed

Coronation Street’s Amy Barlow is headed for a sinister storyline next week on the soap amid her surprise boyfriend drama.

Amy (Elle Mulvaney) and Corrie troublemaker Jacob Hay (Jack James Ryan) have grown closer on the ITV soap in recent weeks.

Jacob recently returned to the cobbles and promised he had turned over a new leaf and put his drug dealing past that terrorised Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) behind him.

ITV spoilers now reveal that Amy is headed for a dark night out at a club on the soap next week, where audiences will see her pass out after her drink was spiked.

The drama begins on Monday, February 14, when Jacob suggests a night out clubbing after the Valentine’s Dance to Amy, Asha and Summer.

They agree to meet up with Jacob outside the club, but inside Amy becomes increasingly woozy while on the dance floor.

When Amy suddenly collapses, Jacob yells at Asha, Aadi and Summer to call an ambulance while he puts her in the recovery position.

The drama continues in later scenes, when Steve McDonald and Jacob come to blows over the incident, as the secret relationship is finally revealed.

In the hospital, Steve and Tracy Barlow are in shock as they stare at Amy’s seemingly lifeless body.

Friends Asha and Aadi approach Steve in the hospital - and he tells them that if Jacob’s responsible for Amy’s condition, he’ll make sure hers is the last life he ever destroys.

Jacob tells them he thinks someone spiked Amy’s drink before she got to the club - and blood tests confirm that she has taken GHB.

But Steve is dubious of Jacob’s innocence, believing he is the one that spiked Amy’s drink.

Jacob then chooses this moment to reveal that he and Amy are together.

Later in the week on Wednesday, February 16, Steve and Tracy are told by hospital staff that Amy should make a full recovery, addin that whoever put her in the recovery position saved her life.

Asha tells them it was Jacob as he assured them it wasn’t him that spiked Amy’s drink - but Steve still orders him to stay away from Amy in the future.

As a police officer questions Amy about the spiking incident, chaos erupts in the corridor outside as Tracy and Amy dash out to see Steve punching Jacob.

In later scenes, Amy puts her foot down and makes it clear to Steve that if she wants to see Jacob, it’s her decision and not his.

This doesn’t stop Leanne Battersby from calling in to give Amy an earful for getting involved with Jacob.

Amy then receives a text telling her that Jacob has been arrested for supplying fake IDs, which Simon later admitted to being responsible for in the cafe.

Amy is ultimately forced to break off the relationship and tells Jacob that she has no choice.

These scenes air on ITV's Coronation Street on Monday, February 14 and Wednesday, February 16.
