Corrie's troublesome teen Kelly Neelan spotted at intense court scenes in murder trial

Coronation Street actress Millie Gibson has been spotted outside a courthouse while she filmed intense scenes during her character's trial.

The 17-year-old actress, who plays troublesome Kelly Neelan in the hit ITV soap, was spotted dressed in a formal shirt and skirt as she took a break from filming this week.

The scenes come as Corrie characters Kelly and Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) face charges for the killing of Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni).

In the latest snaps, Millie was snapped sitting on the steps of the courtroom as she modelled a smart outfit ahead of filming. She chatted to her co-star Maximus, who was suited and booted in a smart black number.

Millie's character Kelly has caused quite a stir since she made her Coronation Street debut in 2019.

In scenes that aired back in May, Seb and his girlfriend were viciously attacked following an altercation with Corey along a canal path. During the ordeal, Kelly smacked Nina before the couple were set upon by Corey's brutal gang.

Although Nina was able to recover in hospital, Seb tragically died from his injuries.

While Kelly had initially vowed to keep quiet, she later had a change of heart and agreed to cooperate with police in the investigation into Seb's death.

However, Corey then turned on the teenager and accused Kelly of being the ring leader in the horrific attack.

Nina then began to recall the attack and has incriminated Corey Brent - but his influential father is working hard to keep him off the hook as he points the finger at Kelly.

Kelly was eventually charged with Seb's murder while Corey said that he only disposed of his bloodied clothes because he panicked after trying to help Seb.

While things aren't looking good for Kelly, Coronation Street fans will have to wait and see how the tense court scenes play out.

It was just two months ago that Coronation Street signed Millie Gibson as a permanent star on the show after she impressed producers so much.

Speaking about her time on the show, Millie admitted she was thrilled to develop her character even further.

"It's been so nice to explore different layers of Kelly, because when she first came in, she was a troubled girl looking for her dad," she said.

"It started to unfold that she had all of these other problems going on, and all of these other encounters with different characters that added to her personality and journey throughout Corrie. It's been amazing to explore Kelly.

"I never imagined this would happen but I'm over the moon.

“I just thought it was going to be a once-in-a-blue-moon experience, but I'm now part of this amazing family."
