Coronation Street's Toyah Battersby will be kidnapped in horrifying scenes on the ITV soap in the coming weeks.
Toyah – played by Georgia Taylor – has had a rough time of late. She was put up for a murder charge after the death of her husband Imran Habeeb, who died in a shocking car crash after it was revealed he had an affair with Abi Webster.
As a result, a baby was born, leaving Toyah devastated as she had longed for children herself. It looks like things will be getting worse for Toyah in the coming weeks as actress Georgia was spotted filming some horrifying kidnapping scenes.
Photos taken on location showed Toyah being bound and gagged and put in the back of a white van. Her face was badly bruised and bloodied and she looked absolutely terrified as she tried to get away from her captors.
Screams could be heard on set, as well as banging on the side of the vehicle, as she desperately tried to make an escape – but it will be a few weeks until viewers see these horrifying scenes on screen.
We know Toyah has had a rough few months dodging jail, but who are her captors and what do they want? Will she make it out of her kidnapping alive - or is this the end for her character on the Cobbles?
In scenes that aired last autumn, Toyah's fate was revealed – she was cleared of killing Imran.
There was a car crash, with Imran dragging Toyah out of the car and saving her, but he had suddenly gone into cardiac arrest and died. A flashback revealed the pair had argued that evening in the car, as she fumed at him for lying in court when he tried to get them custody of baby Alfie from the little one's mother Abi Webster.
Toyah had later admitted to Spider that she wanted to kill Imran and had deliberately crashed the car, with her sister Leanne overhearing the conversation. Whilst she was found not guilty, she struggled with the verdict and admitted she didn't feel like celebrating what had happened – as even though she was 'free', the guilt still ate away at her.
What trouble has Toyah got herself in now, and is this the end for her?
