Corrie's Mollie Gallagher jokes she's a 'weirdo' as she talks DOI training with Sylvain

Dancing on Ice star Mollie Gallagher has joked that she's a "weirdo at the best of times" whilst discussing her experience training for the ITV skating competition.

The actor, 25 - known for playing Nina Lucas on Coronation Street - is among the remaining contestants on the show. She will take to the ice this weekend for her sixth routine.

She is partnered with professional ice skater Sylvain Longchambon, 42. The pair have avoided the skate-off so far and are now among the six remaining couples.

Mollie has discussed her experience training for the show, teasing that she has "probably done weird things". She spoke about Dancing on Ice with New! magazine recently.

Asked if she's any mishaps like grabbing the wrong part of the body in training, she said: "Oh my god, I don't think I have. If I think too deeply I'm sure I'll start grabbing the wrong thing."

"No, I don't think I've done anything like that yet. I mean, I'm a weirdo at the best of times, so I've probably done weird things, but no mishaps in that way," she further commented.

Mollie also discussed her relationship with Sylvain. The ice skater is married to her co-star Samia Longchambon, 40, who plays Maria Connor on the ITV soap.

The actor said about being partnered with Sylvain: "I think straight away we just built this friendship that's like brother and sister." She added: "It's just constant banter with us".

They are among the six remaining pairs in the competition. Mollie admitted that it's now at the stage where she has been thinking about who will make it to the final.

Commenting on her approach to the competition though, she said: "It's just about enjoying it while it lasts because you never know when your last skate is going to be".

Other celebrities still in the competition include fellow actor Carley Stenson, 40, and gymnast Nile Wilson, 27. They have been towards the top of the leaderboard each week.

They aren't the only competitors left though. Mollie is also up against reality TV star Joey Essex, 32, singer Siva Kaneswaran, 34, and drag artist The Vivienne, 30.

Dancing on Ice continues on Sunday night (February 26) from 6.30pm on ITV and ITVX. And you can catch-up on previous episodes of the latest series through ITVX now.
