Coronation Street's Elaine has seemingly foreshadowed her own death with a telling comment on the soap tonight.
Elaine got the attention of serial killer Stephen Reid and the pair have struck up a romance with one another. However, under increasing pressure, Stephen has tried to convince Elaine to re-mortgage the house to buy Carla's share in Underworld.
Speaking on the ITV soap tonight, Elaine didn't seem keen on the idea as she said: "Why would I re-mortgage the flat just to sink it into Carla's share of Underworld? That is supposed to be my safety net. I don't need that millstone around my neck."
Eagle eyed fans noticed her comment, and feared she was foreshadowing her own death and how she might die.
"Stephen’s nearly had enough of Elaine, she’ll be ending up in the bin… #Corrie," one viewer penned on social media, as another added: "Oh s***, Elaine Watch out, Stephen is desperate again. #corrie."
Todd had previously admitted that the blood "drained from his face" when he found out he was going to be a murderer.
Speaking about the role, he said: "In March, the very start of May, Iain McLeod and I, we sat down on a Zoom and I had no clue I was going to be a murderer. There was a nice period of time that they checked my availability for and I think the blood probably drained from my face when he said, 'You are going to be a murderer'. And then I thought, 'Oh my god I am going to be a baddy', then the blood came back to my face and I thought this is going to be amazing, and he kindly wanted to see if that was ok with me."
The actor, who plays Stephen, previously teased his character could be unmasked soon.
Todd told the Metro recently: "He is so used to lying now, he has become so good at it, he is one of those people who don’t actually think he is lying any more. He is serving himself all the time with these lies.
"We're going to see him start taking risks as he gets more desperate, his life is starting to unravel, and it is going to be interesting to see how he deals with the pressure. He is bound to start making mistakes and that could be his undoing."
