Corrie's Craig set for heartbreaking twist as Faye makes big decision ahead of shock exit

Coronation Street 's Faye Windass made a big decision on Friday night that is tipped to lead to heartbreak for her boyfriend Craig Tinker.

The character made a life-changing choice, but viewers know it will likely all end in tears following the recent reports an exit is on the way for Faye.

She was caught out this week as she was spotted with her ex Jackson on a drinks date, despite being with Craig, and soon they shared a kiss.

Faye has been torn over Jackson's return, after he turned up recently with their daughter Miley.

While initially scared to have her in her life, Faye decided to get to know her daughter and things have gone well.

But it's led to Faye being visibly torn over her life with Craig and starting a life with Jackson and Miley away from Weatherfield.

This was only enhanced on Friday night, when Craig popped the question and proposed to girlfriend Faye.

Faye was stunned as she came across a crowd in the street, with Craig soon asking her to marry him.

As she looked around and saw Jackson, it was clear she was uncomfortable but she told Craig 'yes'.

When Craig later confronted Faye after finding out Jackson wasn't happy and had asked Faye to move away with him and Miley, she was left saying something she may soon regret.

She claimed that she knew what she wanted and that it was Craig, insisting she was happy to be with him and wanted to celebrate their engagement.

Just moments earlier she'd confided in Michael Bailey about her antics, saying everything was a mess.

Now with the news that Faye will depart the show later this year it seems Craig is about to have his heart broken.

It comes after it was reported earlier this month that Faye actress Ellie Leach was bowing out of the role after 12 years.

According to reports she quit the role to explore new opportunities, but will not be killed off.

A source told The Sun at the time: "Ellie’s been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family. She’s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won’t be killed off.

"She’s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
