Coronation Street airs worry for Audrey Roberts next week on the ITV soap, as spoilers allude to a secret illness or health issue.
The character is hiding something from her loved ones, and conceals her whereabouts when she is taken to hospital.
It comes weeks after her loved ones grew concerned about her alcohol consumption, and just last month she was injured when a motorbike fell on top of her.
After a stay in hospital, she reconciled with her family and they have been worried about her ever since.
Audrey discussed her will in the scenes that followed, after her grandchildren were gutted when she said she would leave all of her money to the Weatherfield Association of Retail Traders, in memory of her late husband.
Eventually she changed her mind and decided to set up trust funds for them all, and told them she loved them.
Next week, they try to make a fuss over her for her birthday, with the family planning a meal.
She isn't keen though, after their last family meal descended into chaos, and tells them she'd rather avoid it.
David, meanwhile, has a nice surprise for his grandmother for her birthday - but it's up to him and his relatives to convince Audrey to attend her planned celebrations.
Audrey does end up attending, but she is left is underwhelmed by her birthday meal.
After, the family take her to show her their surprise and she discovers that they’ve signed a rental agreement with Debbie, and her old salon is now hers again.
It's not known how she reacts to this, but her behaviour sparks concern with her daughter Gail.
Later on, Gail calls her mum to check in on her and admits her concerns that Audrey did not seem herself when they met up earlier on.
Audrey assures her that it’s nothing a good night’s sleep won’t put right, making out that everything is fine.
But what she fails to mention is that she’s lying in a hospital bed - so what is wrong with Audrey, and will she be okay?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
