Coronation Street's Adam Barlow has revealed the real reason why Lydia sought revenge on him in the ITV soap.
Lydia (Rebecca Ryan) has been scheming against her ex (Sam Robertson) for weeks, with her no giving real reason why she decided to break him and his wife Sarah (Tina O'Brien) up. Whilst she did say she wanted to "dismantle" his life as revenge for him dismantling hers, she never revealed what exactly he did to her when they were younger.
But during tonight's show, Adam finally confessed to what he thinks he did to make Lydia behave in that way.
During tonight's episode of Corrie, Adam confronted Lydia in the street about what she was doing to him and begged her to stop ruining his - and Sarah's - life. But she wasn't having any of it, insisting he was in the wrong as she stuck with the story she had told Sarah about the pair's 'affair', leaving Adam adamant he would bring her down and win Sarah back.
Fuming, Adam vowed to Lydia he'd find proof of her lies - but before he could get Sarah to speak to her one more time, Lydia decided to leave. He was hoping his estranged wife could get the truth out of Lydia, but she was gone before he had a chance.
Lydia's exit wasn't shown on screen - but Sarah revealed to Adam that she had gone by her flat to talk to her but it was an empty. A neighbour confirmed to Sarah that Lydia had left with her son and lots of suitcases in tow.
But spoilers reveal she will back for a huge showdown with Adam, with disastrous consequences.
Later in the programme, Adam and Daniel sat down to chat about Lydia's masterplan and why she might of specifically targeted him, as the solicitor admitted he had worked out Lydia had decided to take her revenge.
Explaining to Daniel how he was a ladies man at university, he told his half-sibling that he had a lot of luck with the women when he was studying. He said he managed to get any girl he wanted but soon binned them off as he got bored with them all one by one.
Admitting he understood why that might of upset Lydia, he finally confessed he didn't behave the best towards women when he was younger as he recounted his past mistakes with the other women he had been with.
In a sweet scene, Adam then explained how desperately he wanted Sarah back - and that he had changed since his younger years.
