Corrie's Adam hits rock bottom and his fate lies in Imran's hands after Lydia's scheme

Coronation Street's Adam Barlow will hit rock bottom this week as Lydia Chambers ramps up his sinister plot to wreak havoc on his life on the ITV soap.

While Lydia (Rebecca Ryan) and Adam (Sam Robertson) briefly dated when they were at university together a decade ago, Lydia has hinted there was much more to their relationship than Adam has recalled - and she’s now out for revenge.

As Lydia continues to takes aim at Adam, his job as a lawyer comes under fire this week when comments appear online trashing him as a solicitor.

ITV spoilers have revealed that the comments will jeopardise Adam’s professional life, forcing him to come clean about the entire situation to his colleague and friend Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo).

But when a huge client then decides to take their business elsewhere after seeing the damning online review - likely from vengeful ex-girlfriend Lydia - Imran is placed in a difficult position and Adam faces fresh horror.

The situation goes from bad to worse when Adam finds out he has been reported to the Solicitors Regulation Authority, leaving the trashed solicitor facing the possibility of being struck off.

As the possibility of losing his job raises its head, Adam decides to step down from the company until the dire situation has been resolved.

Solicitor Dawn Bowdler, of Fletchers Solicitors, has now explained what Adam could face next and how Imran may decide his fate as a lawyer amid the investigation.

She noted that reports made to the Solicitors Regulation Authority are taken “incredibly seriously” and suggested that he could potentially face suspension as a result of the legal investigation.

Dawn went on to note that Adam’s job will most likely rest on whether Imran is willing to corroborate the online review or not.

She said: “Adam may be investigated and will likely be asked for information as to how he acted in the alleged situation. Investigators may engage with whoever wrote the review to get their version of events.

“If Lydia is the perpetrator, she would need Imran to assist in the deception and suggest that she had been a client, and then provide evidence from the ‘case file’ to support the poor behaviour that is being alleged.”

Dawn noted that false damning reviews can be “life-ruining” and touched on the possible ramifications for Lydia, should she be exposed, saying: “There has been a recent case where someone left a poor review against a firm and the firm sued that person and won damages for loss of business due to the review. However, the person will not be imprisoned.”
