Corrie reunion on ITV Dancing On Ice as Helen Flanagan cheers on screen mum Sally Dynevor

Coronation Street icon Sally Dynevor is receiving a wave of support from Weatherfield as she swaps the cobbles for the ice rink.

The actress who has played Sally Metcalfe in the soap since 1986 is competing in the hit ITV contest Dancing On Ice with pro skating partner Matt Evers.

Last weekend Dancing On Ice fans saw her being supported in the audience by her on-screen daughter Brooke Vincent, who played Sophie Webster from 2004 until her maternity leave in 2019.

And there was another Corrie reunion for Sally in Sunday night's show as she was cheered on this time by Helen Flanagan.

Helen played Sally's eldest daughter Rosie from 2000 until her maternity leave in 2018.

Helen, 31, was with her adorable daughter Delilah in London as they watched Sally skate to The Foundations' Build Me Up Buttercup.

The actress received a score of 24.5 out of a possible 40 and skated through to the next round.

Ahead of the show Helen shared a photo of mum and daughter together on her Insatgram Stories.

And she posted a snap of six-year-old Delilah in a white snowflake dress in a nod to the long-running winter show.

Former S Club singer Rachel Stevens exited this week as the four judges - Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean - chose to save BMX racer Kye Whyte.

It was a surprise to viewers who took to Twitter to say were expecting to see Sally in the skate-off with Happy Mondays dancer Bez.

@slinehan1 tweeted: "Sally seems so lovely and sweet. But her skating isn't great.

"She's held up by Matt throughout, she seems very tentative and I think she could be in trouble tonight."

But @BonnieBabyVamp said: "No offence, but Rachel was the best choice to leave.

"Everyone is saying Sally & BEZ should have been in the skate-off. But at least despite them both being not the best skaters, they both attempted the spin on one foot."

And after the result @UnaCottrell cheered: "Go, Sally - ballsy North Manc girls give anything a go. You were in the year above me at North Chad comp."
