Coronation Street legend Barbara Knox will celebrate her 90th birthday by telling of her dramatic life on screen.
The actress, who has played Rita Tanner for more than half a century, will join former co-star Bradley Walsh for the ITV show.
It will trace her first footsteps into showbiz before her debut appearance on Corrie in 1964.
She will share her memories about the role, in which she ran the Kabin with assistant Mavis.
Barbara will also revisit the infamous tram crash in 1989 that killed villain Alan Bradley.
ITV say: “Barbara, notoriously private and guarded about her life away from set, for the first time shares with Bradley memories and even never-seen-before photos from her childhood.”
The show will feature interviews with co-stars of Barbara, who landed her full-time role in 1972.
Tanner has been married three times and her turbulent relationship with the psychotic character Bradley is regarded as one of the show’s most famous storylines.
Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, added: “It’s easy to throw the words ‘legend’ and ‘icon’ around, but Barbara Knox really does embody both of those terms. It’s a privilege to tell the story of one of British television’s most enduring stars as she celebrates a very special birthday.”
She was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2010 for services to drama.
Speculation that Barbara was doing a special with Bradley was ignited last month after she was spotted with him at the Grand Hotel in Lytham St Annes.
Posting on Facebook, the Grand Hotel said: “It was lovely to welcome Bradley Walsh and Barbara Knox for lunch today while they took a short break from filming in the local area.”
The documentary will be screened later this year.
