Coronation Street's Kelly Neelan told the full story of her harrowing childhood in heartbreaking scenes.
The troubled teen, played by Millie Gibson, suffered more heartache after discovering while behind bars that her mum Laura, played by Kel Allen, had attempted to sell a story about her.
Laura was arrested on suspicion of child cruelty after she shamelessly tried to sell her daughter's story to the papers and Kelly was interviewed by a social worker.

In Wednesday's Corrie Kelly described her devastating childhood to the social worker, explaining how her cruel mum would knock her about and then go missing for days.
"There were other times when she'd just go missing for days and weeks on end. That was when she was on one," she told.
Asked to clarify what this meant, she said: "On a comedown or a bender, off with some bloke she'd just met or sometimes all three.
"Whenever that happened I tried to stay away or else she'd lash out."
Kelly, who is now fostered by Imran Habeeb and Toyah Battersby, also explained the shocking reason for her distinctive eyebrow scar.
"She'd hit me or push me. She gave me this scar from a fat rock on her finger," she said.
The teenager also told how Laura fought with her dad and resented that Kelly reminded her of him.
Daniel Osbourne, played by Rob Mallard, warned Imran and Toyah Battersby what was going on when Laura tried to sell the story to a fellow journalist.
Imran, played by Charlie de Melo, went to visit Kelly in prison where she was happy about the fact her mum had been to visit and seemed interested in her.
But Imran told her the brutal truth that she was trying to get information for the press.
When she was arrested Laura suspected Imran and Toyah, but Kelly called them to revealed that it was she who reported her mum.
Kelly is currently on remand for murder and GBH following the vicious hate attack on Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin in May which led to Seb's death from catastrophic injuries.
Her eyebrow has been much-talked-about on Twitter since the character arrived on the Coronation Street cobbles in 2019, and Millie previously set the record straight about her look.
Some Corrie fans assumed that Millie shaved the slit into her eyebrow for her role as troublemaker Kelly, but Millie has confirmed that it is in fact a scar in real-life.
"It is a scar," she told the Manchester Evening News.
"My dad always gets frustrated about comments like that because people are like 'oh no she's put it in herself trust me, I know she's put it in herself.'
"When I was younger, I was about two or three. In all of my baby pictures I have I look like a right thug.
"I was running and I whacked my head on the corner of the banniser thing and apparently my head was massive."
