Corrie fans were left cringing as Sally Metcalfe turned seductive temptress during Monday night’s instalment as she attempted to spice up her sex life with husband Tim Metcalfe.
Viewers of the ITV soap saw Sally's saucy suggestions play out when the character appeared wearing a nurse’s outfit to entice her husband Tim, played by Joe Duttine.
The suggestive drama escalated as Sally, played by Sally Dynevor, leapt atop Tim, only for his mum to walk in on the scene, leaving all three red-faced.
Fans of the Weatherfield drama were left gobsmacked by the saucy scenes and took to social media to react.
One fan dubbed “the whole storyline cringe” as another made a reference to actress Sally’s daughter, Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor, writing: “Sally taking after her daughter in Bridgerton with this behaviour lol.”
A third posted: “That Tim and Sally sex chat is sickening now and makes me wanna turn over.”
A fellow fan demanded: “MAKE IT STOP,” as another renamed the soap: “Smuttyation Street!”
Another mused: “Will this ever end? They’re taking the piss now. I swear it’s been 45 minutes of Sally and Tim talking about getting down and dirty. That’s 44 minutes longer than it needed to be!”
A fellow fan winced: “The whole Tim and Sally jiggery pokery storyline is cringe inducing!!”
“Oh p-lease, I'm about to see my tuna pasta bake again! How much longer are the scriptwriters going to drag out this storyline,” another wrote.
Another fan asked: “Am I the only one who finds the constant sex talk between Sally and Tim excruciating?”
A fellow soap fan said they could “never unsee” Sally in the nurse costume, as one soap viewer wrote: “The constant discuss of Sally and Tim's sex life is so awkward. Not a prude but it's very…” alongside a cringing emoji.
Earlier in the episode, Sally and Tim were seen asking the GP during a remote consultation whether Tim was in fighting fit shape for bedroom activities yet.
He replied: “Yes. You don’t need to ask permission. You just needed to wait until you felt up to it.”
The latest health news for Tim follows on from his character suffering a heart attack in 2019 and was discovered after he opted for a New Year health check with his GP when the devastating news was revealed.
The cheeky cabbie kept the health blow a secret from his wife for a period, leaving her certain something was wrong and jeopardising their marriage - although the couple have since patched things up and are now trying to adjust to the constant presence of Tim’s mum.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
