Coronation Street viewers were panicked on Friday night, as they noticed a character appeared to be missing from the show amid a health scare.
Just days after Roy Cropper displayed worrying health symptoms, the character was seemingly a no-show - and fans threatened to "riot" out of concern that something had happened to him.
While he did get a mention and it was said he had plans in the coming days, Roy was not seen onscreen by viewers just days after visiting his GP.
The much-loved soap legend has been holding onto his chest recently, complaining of pains and soreness. He had to stop dancing with pal Evelyn Plummer, before heading home and contacting the doctors, clearly worried about his health.
On Wednesday night he spoke to a doctor about what was happening, and he was advised he needed more tests done to determine a cause.
When Roy opened up to his close friend Evenlyn, she was worried and offered to attend a hospital appointment with him.
This scene and the fact Roy wasn't feeling well left viewers fearing it could lead to an exit, so when he vanished in the latest episode it only created further concern.
Roy didn't seem to appear at all, and asides the mention about his niece Nina Lucas' birthday, there was no reference to his hospital visit.
Viewers panicked that it meant something was wrong with him, and that he might be killed off.
While there has been nothing to suggest Roy is leaving the ITV soap, fans couldn't help but fear the worst and soon threatened to "riot".
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "Roy better be alive cos there will be a riot never mind scenes of distress if he isn't!"
Another fan tweeted: "What’s going on with Roy?" as a third added: "Best not be killing off our Roy…"
It follows the scenes at the appointment on Wednesday night, which led to fans fearing the worst then too.
One took to social media as they wrote: "They better not be killing off Roy #Corrie," as a second added: "#Corrie cannot kill Roy off, hearts will break, people will suffer, days of mourning will be had."
A third penned: "Is Roy having cardiac problems? Someone, please listen to him. He is never ill or complains about his health. #Corrie."
Others were convinced they'd worked out what might be wrong with Roy.
"#Corrie Maybe Roy is allergic to the dog or having panic attacks," one said as they hoped for the best, whilst another wrote: "Please make Roy better praying it's just the dog allergy as can cause the symptoms he has #corrie."
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
