Corrie fans 'screaming at the TV' over 'injustice' of custody hearing as Imran wins

Coronation Street fans were not happy on Wednesday evening as Abi Webster and Imran Habeeb went head-to-head in court.

The pair are currently locked in a custody battle over their baby boy Alfie, who was conceived during a one night stand.

Imran (Charlie de Melo) has desperately been trying to prove that Abi (Sally Carman) is an unfit mother, and even hired a man named Ben to follow her over the past week to try and get some dirt on her.

Ben took some photos of Abi giving money to her former drug dealer Dean, and Imran presented the pictures as evidence in court that she is still using drugs.

Despite the judge telling Imran that having someone followed was "about as low as it gets", she still decided to grant custody to Imran and his new wife Toyah.

"Weighing up the risk to Alfie, I have decided that Alfie should remain living with his father. While he's in hospital, Mrs Webster may visit Alfie.

"On his discharge, Mrs Webster may have visitations with Alfie weekly. For now, this is what is in the best interests of Alfie," the judge added.

Viewers tuning in at home were not happy with the outcome at all and took to Twitter to comment.

"Corrie I despise the injustice in this custody hearing. Imran should be dis-barred NOT given custody based on his shady, underhanded tactics to gather evidence," one person said.

Another viewer tweeted: "The judge’s decision was such a joke. There was no empirical evidence of Abi consuming drugs, just a so-called eyewitness and photos of money changing hands. All her drugs tests have been negative, she’s been attending meetings. Toyah and Imran are scum. #coronationstreet #corrie."

Someone else posted: "#corrie I'm actually screaming at Tv, Imran you Toss pot I wish someone would knock that smirk of his face."

A fourth viewer tweeted: "I used to like Imran but the way he's been just lately towards Abi has made me see him in a new light. Disgusting and evil behaviour. #Corrie."

Another person added: "This storyline is vile! I used to really like Toyah and Imran. Hate what they've done to the characters. #Corrie."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
