Coronation Street fans were left siding with Daniel Osbourne, as he pushed Max Turner down a flight of stairs after the teenager broke into his teacher's home.
The tense showdown came after David Platt was forced to tell son Max about the harrowing sexual assault after Daniel alluded to the ordeal in a conversation with Max after a consent workshop.
On Tuesday, vengeful Max broke into Daniel's flat and tore through the place, even breaking a clay imprint of late wife Sinead's hands next to Daniel and their son Bertie's hand-prints.
When Daniel returned home to see Max and the broken clay imprint, he saw red and shoved Max out of the flat, where he tripped and tumbled to the bottom of the stairs.
As Daniel stared at Max's lifeless body before calling an ambulance, fans took to Twitter to side with Daniel after the incident.
One Corrie fan wrote: "Nice one Daniel!! #Corrie", while another said: "I really hate that little brat Max. He drove Daniel to push him down the stairs. #Corrie"
A third weighed in: "Go on Daniel about time someone did that #Corrie" with a string of clapping emojis.
Another soap fan said: "Max deserved that push. He’s a terror. And creepy #corrie"
A fellow fan tweeted: "I’m absolutely team Daniel on this one #corrie"
Another wrote: "#Corrie max is the most unlikable young man, I would have left him at the bottom of the stairs"
Max was rushed to hospital after the tense confrontation with Daniel, as fans saw earlier in the episode that Max managed to swipe the keys to Daniel's flat from the shop counter when nobody was paying attention.
The police soon arrived on the scene to quiz Daniel about Max's fall, but he lied and made it seem like Max fell.
Daniel maintained his innocence - but that didn't stop Max's dad David accosting him in the street and calling him a liar. Lydia stepped in to stop the row, whilst Daisy watched on, worried for Daniel.
As his worried family surrounds him at the hospital, Max is told by doctors that he has been left with a fracture and a concussion from the fall down the stairs.
However, an officer later appears at Daniel's flat to say that the police will investigate what happened as an alleged assault after Max made the accusation from the hospital.
ITV spoilers revealed that towards the end of the week, Daniel is called into the school as the teachers accept he didn't push Max.
They suggest he applies for a permanent post at the school when his placement is finished, leaving David and Shona are outraged.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
