Coronation Street fans believe they have worked out Toyah’s next moves against boyfriend Imran during the latest instalment of the ITV soap as the pair fight for custody of baby Alfie.
The final episode of the week saw a determined Abi tell Kevin she would like to return to work so she can afford to buy things for newborn baby Alfie.
But she was left stunned upon discovering that Imran plans to fight her for custody of their son.
Horrified at the prospect of losing the child, Abi met with her solicitor Elliot and told him she wants to apply for full custody of Alfie.
But when Abi approached Imran and revealed her plans to fight for custody, Imran resorted to dirty tricks, calling a paralegal to dig up dirt for the court case.
Throughout Friday’s instalment of the ITV soap, Toyah was at Imran’s side as they discussed raising Alfie with the social worker - only for Toyah to drop the bombshell that the pair were getting married, unbeknownst to Imran.
After the couple hit the rocks in recent weeks when Toyah discovered Imran had fathered baby Alfie with Abi, Emmerdale fans were left suspicious why she had been so quick to forgive the affair.
ITV viewers took to Twitter to theorise whether Toyah was “playing” Imran and the storyline could be paving the way for actor Charlie de Melo’s planned exit from the cobbles.
One wrote: “Toyah is definitely playing Imran, like hell would she marry him when he cheated.”
Another wrote: “I hope Toyah has revenge up her sleeve because he damn well deserves it.”
A third tweeted: “Toyah really is desperate for a kid. It's obvious that she doesn't trust Imran & I think his chances would be better of getting Alfie if they weren't together.”
Another social media user posted: “I know Toyah's probably playing Imran, but now playing happy families a week after giving up poor Elsie?”
One fan suggested the couple could be “about to fleece each other without the other one knowing”, as another agreed and wrote: “Isn’t Charlie de Melo leaving Corrie? If so, this looks like he’s just using Toyah to get custody of his son & he’ll then kidnap & run off with him.”
Another wrote: Someone's just planted in my brain that Imran is going to run off with Alfie, and now I can't escape the thought. That's brilliant.
“It establishes him as a self-serving villain, creates more trauma for Abi/Toyah and ... maybe ... bonds them just a little.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
