Corrie fans predict heartbreak for Craig as they 'work out' Faye's exit storyline

Coronation Street fans are convinced they've worked out how Faye Windass will bid farewell to the cobbles.

It has been reported that Ellie Leach is departing her role as Faye on the ITV soap, with her final scenes set to air this summer. After last night's episode, fans of the show are sure her exit storyline is already being set up by bosses after spotting a clue.

Faye - played by Ellie - has recently reunited with her daughter Miley, despite initially rejecting Jackson's wish for the pair to successfully co-parent their daughter together. Whilst her family seemed keen, Faye struggled with the decision.

And it looks like there could be heartbreak in store for Craig Tinker ( Colson Smith ) if fans are right about Faye's reason for leaving the cobbles for good, with viewers sure her and Jackson will spark their romance back up again.

"Good to see Faye striking a bond with her daughter. She's definitely falling for Jackson again though. #Corrie," one wrote, whilst a second viewer added on social media: "Faye is going to leave Craig for Jackson & Miley poor poor Craig #Corrie."

A third shared: "There’s the seed to ruining Craig and Faye then #Corrie," with a fourth writing: "I heard Faye is leaving. Can totally see her getting back with Jackson, and them moving back to Canada with there daughter #CoronationStreet #Corrie.

"Faye will run off with Jackson won’t she? And who can blame her! #Corrie," a fifth penned, as a sixth added: "So that's how Faye is getting written out of it then, she's gonna leave with Jackson and her kid. Poor Craigey. #corrie."

It is believed that Ellie will have the option to return later if she wants, so her character is unlikely to be killed off.

Asource told The Sun: "Ellie’s been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family. She’s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won’t be killed off.

"She’s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit."

Back in 2021, Ellie told The Mirror she couldn't believe she had been on the show for a decade.

"It is crazy to think it is 10 years. It has gone so fast but I also feel like I have been there my whole life. For what time I can remember, Corrie has been my life. As a child, you just can’t believe it. You don’t really know at that age what is happening," she said.
