Coronation Street fans are convinced they've worked out a 'disaster' twist for Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs this Christmas.
Tyrone will propose to Fiz this week after the school councillor quizzed them on their family situation. The pair are quick to celebrate their news before getting a visit from the journalist who wrote the book about Hope and handed over the information for safekeeping.
Amid reports the pair are to tie the knot on Christmas Day, fans of the ITV soap are convinced Tyrone and Fiz will be dealt a huge blow as they're convinced a past character will make a huge return and cause trouble for the pair.
One fan suggested: "Apparently it’s Tyrone and Fiz wedding this Christmas time and I think Alina comes back with her and Tyrone’s baby in tow.. imagine the twist there.. I’ve not read that it’s what I think could happen.. #Corrie @RuxPorojnicu."
"Yep she will turn up with his son," another fan replied, as a third penned: "Also, isn't Alina due to come back with her baby? I wonder if she will come back as a refugee to use the community centre? #Corrie."
A fourth shared: "Isn’t it about time for Alina to make an appearance with the baby? #corrie."
Another fan suggested Alina could be back on the Cobbles during the festive period – just as Tyrone and Fiz tie the knot, as they penned: " #Alina going to reappear at #Christmas with Tyrone Jnr in tow by any chance ? #Corrie."
"I’m still wondering when #Alina is going to reappear with #Tyrone ’s baby! #CoronationStreet #Corrie," one viewer shared, as another mused: "I hope they don't bring back stape would rather they bring back Alina on Christmas with a baby surprise for Tyrone."
The fan theory comes after show boss Iain MacLeod revealed some scenes this festive season had him in tears.
"There's loads of comedy, lots of family fun in it and lots of warmth. I sort of cried twice in the viewing of it and I'm not given to tears. It's really moving and lovely, but not moving in a sad way but moving in a kind of warms your cockles way.
"So I really think the fans are gonna love it, and the Fiz and Tyrone strand is probably the centre piece of it. It's really good fun and the right amount of silly," he told The Mirror and other press at a special Corrie launch event.
He added: "Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine are absolutely marvellous in it, and the kids are great so it just feels totally Christmas and totally Corrie, so it's a warm end of the year for us really."
