Coronation Street fans have predicted there could be a kidnapping in the near future, after tuning into Monday night's episodes.
The first of two instalments ended with Linda Hancock telling Chesney Brown that she wants Joseph to come and live with her in Portugal.
Linda (Jacqueline Leonard) seemed concerned about her grandson and his upbringing in Weatherfield, especially after Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) told her that the youngster stole money from her purse.
Chesney (Sam Aston) looked stunned as Linda said: "I'm talking about Joseph coming to live with me permanently..."
"No," Chesney told her as he explained that Joseph likes living with him and Gemma and the other kids.
"Don't be selfish, just listen. He would have my undivided attention. Joseph was a different kid when he lived with me and Katie, he was a little ray of sunshine, now look at him," Linda argued.
"You're delusional if you think I would just give my son away! Now get out!" Chesney shouted back.
Corrie fans were left worrying what Linda could be capable of, and were gobsmacked that she would even suggest Joseph go to another country with her.
"OMG Linda's actually tryna take Joseph back to live with her permanently seriously? Surely Ches isn't gona agree though right? #Corrie (sic)," one person tweeted.
Another viewer posted: "Granny can’t just rock up and think a child will go live in a foreign country away from the family he knows. #Corrie."
A third person said: "#Corrie I feel a child snatching coming on," while another asked: "Will this end up going to court or kidnap #Corrie."
Someone else added: "Linda is a bit cheeky there wasn’t she. Suggesting to take Chesney's son away from him #Corrie."
Another Corrie fan begged: "Don't let her take Joseph away Ches #Corrie."
The episode ended with Chesney trying to have a heart-to-heart with Joseph as he apologised for not letting him go and stay in a fancy hotel with his Grandma Linda.
"This is your home and it always will be," Chesney told him, but Joseph simply replied: "I want to go and live with grandma Linda."
