Corrie fans call out Teddy’s 'comical' murder – and spot trouble for Michael

Coronation Street fans have called out the soap for making a 'huge gaffe' when Stephen Reid killed again.

The disturbed son of Audrey Roberts, played by Todd Boyce, 61, has already murdered Leo Thompkins and now he's bumped off his dad Teddy.

In shocking scenes, the businessman decided to do away with the pensioner in Underworld after the grieving father realised Stephen had been pretending to be his dead son.

The two ended up in a heated discussion in the knicker factory, before the crazed killer whacked Teddy over the head - with a hole punch.

Fans flocked to Twitter saying the stationary item was in no way strong enough to kill a man, slamming the soap for the 'blunder'.

One said: "So a whack on the head with a hole puncher done more damage than a whack on the head with a crowbar... Keep it real Corrie!"

Another wrote: "Give over, though, as if that hole puncher (however heavy-duty it was) would be enough to kill him, though, especially with just the one wallop!"

While a third mused: "#Corrie really killed with a hole puncher."

After murdering Teddy, fans reckon Stephen has framed Michael Bailey as he handed him the murder weapon before stashing the deceased's body in his car roof box.

"Ah he’s going to use Michael to take the fall, his finger prints will be all over that hole puncher," one viewer predicted.

While another agreed, saying: "Michael's prints are all over the hole puncher."

Fans branded the murder 'unrealistic' (ITV)

With blood on his hands, Stephen asked Kevin, Tim and Abi to help him lift the roof box onto the car.

However, after leaving to clean up, the vehicle was gone when he returned.

Sarah told Stephen his mum Audrey had taken it back to drive to her friend's house in the Peak District for an overnight visit - leaving the killer in a state of panic.

Corrie bosses have warned there's a lot more drama ahead with Stephen (ITV)

Earlier this month, Coronation Street's executive producer Iain MacLeod teased Stephen is set to get even more desperate, hinting at more death and destruction to come as the killer's lies continue to unravel.

When he arrived on the Cobbles, the brother of Gail Platt appeared to be concerned for his mum Audrey after she suffered a nasty fall.

However, after viewers found out about Stephen's dire financial situation, his plans to fleece his mum in a bid to pay off his debts became clear.
