Corrie airs sinister death scenes as evil Stephen murders third victim and hints at more

Stephen Reid murdered his third victim on Coronation Street tonight - and hinted more was to come.

After Michael made the bold move to leave the Underworld factory and work alongside Rufus, he was left having to run back to his old employer after being ghosted by Rufus. However, he had no idea that actually Stephen had killed Rufus, hence why he wasn't answering his calls or responding to Michael's demands.

On finding out that Rufus was dead, he went back to Stephen, who after some angry exchanges finally agreed to take Michael back on and even promote him. As they sat down in his office, Michael asked him to tell him all his secrets. Stephen then delivered a long monologue about getting what you want, as images were shown of how Rufus met his end.

"So you want to know all my secrets? How about we do this properly and have a drink. So first things first, keeping it simple, you identify your target," he began as he was shown arriving at Rufus' and asking for two minutes to speak with him.

He then went on to tell Michael: "And then when you've done that, you take the initiative, you don't wait for them to come to you," as he was shown being let into Rufus' home before he offered him a drink.

"Once you've got an in, you work it - not so much that you scare them off, you keep them at their ease but you say whatever you can to reel them in," he tells Michael as he's shown in the swimming pool room with Rufus and promises to give him the deal he wanted.

Now sure things were going his way, Rufus offered Stephen a drink as the killer explained to Michael how to keep the client happy, "on your terms". Having sent Rufus to get them more to drink, Stephen poisoned his drink with LSD and warned "ruthlessness" was needed, where he admitted it can get "morally ambiguous" at that point.

"You let the client think they're in control, that they still have the advantage," he said, as Rufus was shown falling over before Stephen pushed him into the pool as he struggles to swim. Rather than try and save him, Stephen held him underwater until he drowned.

As it switched back to the factory, Stephen tells Michael: "You feel like you could do anything, like you're the king of the world."

Could this hint that there are more deaths to come - or is Stephen done with his murdering spree?
