Coronation Street fans were left overjoyed as legends Kevin Kennedy and Angela Lonsdale reunited twenty years since leaving the soap.
As husband and wife, Curly Watts and Emma Taylor, played by Kevin and Angela respectively, had somewhat of a rocky marriage before the pair headed to Newcastle to start their new life together.
Being a bit of a hopeless romantic, Curly married policewoman Emma in 2001, after a string of brief flings and his first serious relationship with first wife Raquel Wolstenhulme.
Curly's marriage to Raquel came to a brutal end once Raquel, who'd unexpectedly moved abroad to become a beautician, one day turned up in Weatherfield demanding that they divorce.
But Curly was able to live out a happy ending after finding love again with Emma. The couple, who share a son together, eventually left the cobbles in 2003.
Since that time, Kevin has continued to grace our screens on shows such as Holby City and Mrs Brown's Boys, however, the actor spends most of his days performing on the stage.
Angela has followed a similar path as she has appeared in The Bill, Doctors and the children's show Wolfblood.
The 53-year-old actress has also starred alongside Michelle Keegan in the BBC drama Our Girl. She played 'Scary' Sue Buchanan in the hospital drama Holby City and in Hollyoaks.
The pair delighted fans with recent pictures that showed them enjoying a night out in Manchester.
On her Instagram, the actress penned: "Reunited with my corrie hubby @realkevinkennedy Break a leg pet! @rockofagesmusicaluk."
Fans of the star were left completely overjoyed at their reunion. One person said: "Wow .. that brings back memories." While fans were quick to respond to the nostalgic snap - and they want them to make a comeback to Weatherfield.
Whilst another person added: "I think u should both come back to Corrie ….. take over the rover return….x."
A third social media user commented: "This is lovely. I think its such a beautiful thing when you can reunite with friends/people you used to work with. Especially when it's the iconic couple of Curly and Emma on corrie. I hope both Kevin and yourself had a lovely catch-up/reunion it's beautiful to see thank you."
Kennedy opened up about how he'd love to return to Corrie after he was bombarded with the same question from fans who were eager to see him back on the show
He'd said: "I would love to go back because I'm very fond of it. Coronation Street is a storyteller, I'm a storyteller, if there's a great Curly story that comes up it would be fun."
Angela is also eager to make a comeback, speaking to Inside Soap, she said: "I wouldn't say no! I've been up there a few times and been close to getting a few parts – I wouldn't be opposed to joining another soap. It's nice to be part of a family, that's what I love about it."
