Coronation Street stars suffer 'awkward' fashion fail at soap's summer party

Two Coronation Street favourites suffered an "awkward" fashion mishap at the show's summer celebration earlier this week.

Stars of the long-running ITV soap were out in force as they came together for a party on Thursday (July 28). And they were mobbed by fans as they arrived at celebrity haunt The Ivy.

The cast had clearly made an effort, with all attendees dressed to the nines to celebrate.

Unfortunately, two stars failed to check what the other was wearing ahead of the event - and turned up looking almost identical. Newcomer James Craven, who plays Summer's boyfriend Aaron Sandford, saw the funny side and made a joke about the outfits on social media.

It came after both he and Jacob Hay actor Jack James Ryan both went to the bash in matching crisp white shirts. Sharing a number of snaps on Instagram, James said: "Family Photo Album 2022 *Summer Party* (No me and Jack didn’t plan it)".

Photos also included group shots of the two with Nina, Summer and Amy actresses Mollie Gallagher, Harriet Bibby and Elle Mulvaney. Fans were clearly loving the shots.

Taking to the comments section, Charlotte said: "Awkward! All look fabulous tho x", while Mia said: "Looking great James".

Jack James Ryan even waded in on the joke, commenting: "Stop pretending like we didn’t plan matching outfits, own your truth bro", to which James replied: "Just knew I couldn’t pull it off like you did".
