Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien might be best known for playing Sarah Barlow - nee Platt - in the ITV soap, but she is also a proud mum who spoke recently about her daughter's new role. She made a rare appearance on ITV's This Morning amid her dramatic Coronation Street storyline and she spoke about daughter Scarlett.
The 13 year old, whose father is fellow soap star Ryan Thomas, is set to appear on an upcoming BBC reboot of Waterloo Road. While sitting down with on the ITV show on Friday, host Dermot O'Leary told he predicted her 13 year old daughter Scarlett was destined for big things when he went to her school to do a book talk.
Right at the start of the interview, Alison Hammond said the presenting pair were 'privileged' to have Tina in the studio as she doesn't do 'that many interviews. "You don't normally do daytime and we're the people that you came to," Alison said, clearly delighted with their latest interview signing. I absolutely love watching you two," Tina replied. "Proper fangirling right now," she added before Alison, 47, had to make a confession, M.E.N reports.

"It's lovely to have you. I did give Tina a little hug before and I have left my mark... I do apologise," the host said as Tina turned to show that the shoulder of her pink blazer had been covered in makeup. Stroking the patch of foundation and other beauty products, Tina, from Rusholme, said: "I'll cherish it forever," as they laughed and Alison added: "That's just for you."
Alison and Dermot, 48, then cracked on with their interview quizzing the soap star on her time on the cobbles having joined the soap 16 years ago and facing a whole host of storylines. They included her infamous teenage pregnancy, being driven into a canal by her serial-killer step-dad, and when she even helped bury the body of local bad boy, and her former flame, Callum under her floorboards.
However, fans couldn't help but comment on how Tina, who first joined Corrie in 1999 when she was 16 but took a seven-year break in 2008, doesn't appear to have aged. As well as talking about her soap past, Tina was also quizzed about her current storyline as Sarah is set to file for a divorce from husband Adam Barlow, believing he has been having an affair with her new friend Lydia.
However, as Corrie fans know, it's all a lie, and bunny boiler Lydia is hellbent on revenge and is tearing Adam's life apart after they had a fling during their university days. But as she wasn't able to give too much away, talk soon turned to Tina's daughter, Scarlett, who she shares with her former Corrie star ex, Ryan Thomas.
Speaking about how Scarlett will soon be in the spotlight just like her soap star parents, Alison said: "What's lovely is that your own daughter, Scarlett, she's actually taking in your footsteps as well. She's going to be in Waterloo Road. She is," proud mum Tina, 38, responded before Demort revealed he'd met Scarlett unbeknown to Tina. "I met Scarlett," Dermot revealed. "I did a talk - unbeknown to me, I didn't know she was your daughter - I did a talk at Scarlett's school and at the end we went for a book tour, and they were like, 'Any questions?', and there was this girl in the front row..."
"Was she front and centre?" Tina laughed. "She always manages to get there, wherever she is in life," to which Dermot replied: "Yes! There was no doubt who the star was at this school. She was lovely, she was so welcoming."
