The wife of Coronation Street star Sam Aston has shared how the couple have suffered two heartbreaking miscarriages in four months. Briony Aston, a hypnobirthing teacher, birth doula, and trainee midwife, shared their double heartbreaking in an open Instagram post.
She shared a picture of a positive pregnancy test that instead read: "Not pregnant anymore." Briony then peened a lengthy caption in which she spoke about her and her soap star husband's recent loss and how she was sharing what had happened in the hope of "breaking the taboo."
She wrote: "This is a difficult thing to share, but in the interest of breaking the taboo, I'm miscarrying again, the second time in four months...it's heartbreaking and it's unfair, BUT I'm not seeking sympathy, I feel well supported and want others to feel supported too.

"And that's why I wanted to post this today, because having people you can talk to and receiving comfort from those who have been through something similar makes the world of difference.
"We'd told close friends and family about both pregnancies, because I knew that, for me, I would want support from those people if it wasn't meant to last. But I wouldn't have been so open had I not heard from other women about the babies they lost and their stories."
Briony went on to share: "So thank you to all the women before me who have shared their stories and talked about their babies, it makes processing this a lot easier, and I don't feel alone at all. In fact I feel the opposite of alone, I feel held and heard and I hope that by continuing these difficult conversations about miscarriage and pregnancy loss we open the door for others who will sadly experience loss too."
The post was quickly flooded with supportive messages including from Sam's Corrie co-stars, both past and present, as Andy Whyment and Brooke Vincent posted a string of heart emojis each in the comments.

Sam, who is famed for playing Chesney Brown in Corrie, married Briony, who he has known since being a teen, in a stunning Cheshire ceremony in May 2019. The romantic nuptials were held on Stock Farm just on the edge of Tatton Park and Sam said he was "the luckiest man alive."
After tying the knot, the couple have gone on to welcome two children. Sam's son Sonny James arrived six weeks early on August 11, 2020, just over a year after the couple married. Then, in October 2021, Sam took to Instagram to reveal his wife was pregnant, sharing an adorable snap of Sonny standing alongside some pumpkins with a sign. And in June 2022, Sam and Briony announced their daughter Daisy Josephine's arrival.
