Ellie Leach is reportedly leaving Coronation Street in a huge summer storyline.
During her time on the show, Ellie has had some huge storylines as her character Faye including a teenage pregnancy and going through the early menopause. At the moment, she is in the middle of a big storyline, which sees her tackle reuniting with her daughter Miley, who she had with Jackson when she was just young herself.
Ellie is expected to leave the soap as part of a summer storyline, with details being held under wraps for now. She has been on the show for over a decade, playing Tim's daughter Faye.
It is believed her character won't be killed off so she could make a return one day.
A source told The Sun: "Ellie’s been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family. She’s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won’t be killed off.
"She’s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit."
A spokesperson for the ITV soap has approached for comment.
Back in 2021, Ellie told The Mirror she couldn't believe she had been on the show for a decade.
"It is crazy to think it is 10 years. It has gone so fast but I also feel like I have been there my whole life. For what time I can remember, Corrie has been my life. As a child, you just can’t believe it. You don’t really know at that age what is happening," she said.
"I definitely didn’t imagine I would still be here 10 years later. I am the type who doesn’t like to think too far into the future."
She added: "I hope I am there forever. It is an amazing job and I love being there. I think growing up in Corrie and the profession I am in, working with adults since a young age, I think that helped me to have my head screwed on. Mum and Dad have kept me grounded anyway – I wouldn’t be any different. I have always had that guidance. I am one of those people who do struggle with the limelight.
"I don’t see myself as different to anybody else. Obviously, I am on people’s tellies but I am no different to any other person. I’ve had people coming up in the street and they can’t think where they know me from."
