Soap star Katie McGlynn has opened up about her upcoming work opportunities after she quit Hollyoaks earlier this year.
The 28-year-old actress first appeared on Coronation Street in 2013, when she was just 19-years-old, as the sweet-natured Sinead Tinker.
Katie eventually left the series in 2019, with Sinead sadly dying in a heartbreaking cancer storyline.
The actress then made a comeback in soap land, appearing on Hollyoaks as new mum Becky Quentin just 18 months after Sinead was killed off, only to shock fans when she walked away from the role on Channel 4 after just nine months.
But it now seems that Katie could soon return to our screens, after she teased future work projects during a recent Instagram Q&A.
She said: "I have some potentially exciting projects coming up. Nothing set in stone as of yet but I'll keep you updated."
Katie also confirmed her Hollyoaks exit with an Instagram post in February, writing: “Becky Quentin, over and out!
"It’s been an absolute pleasure playing Becky and getting my teeth into something so different and gritty!
"As an actor, to be able to portray someone that has so much likeness to extremely current global issues from conspiracy theories to anti-vaxxers, corona virus and sinophobia…
"I really hope the storyline has helped raise some important issues and helps people see how easy it is for someone to be sucked into this whole world of fake news and conspiracy!"
Katie previously revealed that being thrust into the spotlight at such a young age left her feeling ‘uncomfortable and low’.
The pressures of looking good at red carpet events and being compared to her castmates left her feeling self-conscious and worried about being targeted by cruel trolls.
“I was always paranoid that girls would judge me and bitch about me, when they probably weren’t even looking. But even if they were, they’re not my friends,” she told The Sun.
“There were certain times when I felt uncomfortable and low.
“But luckily, everyone at Corrie was lovely and some of them are my best friends now.”
“Now if I see nasty comments, I’m not fussed,” she said. “But when I was younger I would have been upset because I never felt I measured up to the other girls on Corrie looks-wise.”
The star credited her soap star best mates Brooke Vincent (who plays Sophie Webster), Lisa George (Beth Tinker) and Sam Aston (Chesney Brown) for keeping her head above water.
