Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney 'proud' as she gushes over Waterloo Road star boyfriend alongside Adam Thomas

Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney has publically shared her pride for her actor boyfriend after he was seen in emotional scenes on TV. Elle has been dating Waterloo Road star Liam Scholes for months now, going public with their romance back in December.

The pair have since been no strangers to showing their love for one another on social media with the inseparable pair also keen to support each other's careers.

With that being said, on Tuesday night (June 27), Elle, who plays Amy Barlow in ITV's Corrie, joined her partner in watching the final of the latest series of Waterloo Road. And there were tragic scenes for the school's staff and pupils when a fire engulfed the school, killing one of the students.

The actor of arson saw student Danny Lewis die after new pupil Myles Massey went on an angry rampage and started a fire which trapped some of the much-loved characters in the school.

Danny had initially escaped unharmed but realising that Myles was stuck, Danny decided to go back to help him, despite the fact he was the one who caused the fire and hadn't been nice to many of his fellow students. But before Danny could get out, there was an explosion.

It was later revealed that he had passed away in hospital that night. In the final moments of the episode, a group of students held a candlelit vigil for Danny outside the school entrance with Liam's character Noel McManus picking up the guitar and singing Lewis Capaldi's hit song, Before You Go.

Taking to Instagram, Elle took a picture of her TV screen and typed on her Sotries: "@liam_scholes_ proud," alongside a white heart. She then said: "Liam singing out the season [pink hearts]. And that's a wrap Waterloo Road S2." She then posted a beaming selfie of the pair, writing: "When yo have the TRIC awards in the day, and the Waterloo Road finale in the evening... @liam_scholes_."

Liam, meanwhile, shared a clip of the tear-jerking moment to his own Instagram page. The TV star, who is also a singer in band The Lanks, wrote: ""What can I say… @waterlooroad. Being given the opportunity to combine both of my loves for acting and music was a fever dream for me.

"Massive thanks to @smaglebagle who recorded me doing the vocals and guitar. Absolute legend. Also a massive thanks to @lewiscapaldi I guess for writing such a beautiful tune. I hope I was able to do it justice. Thankyou so much for the love this season!! Onto the next x. Also special to mention to everyone that sung tonight a literal choir!! And finally @adamabbou @osian.hw.morgan take a bow lads."
