Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach hinted that she was leaving the ITV soap last month with a cryptic social media post.
Ellie, 22, joined the soap back in 2011 and was soon adopted by Anna and Eddie Windass and has featured in a series of high-profile storylines.
Throughout her 12 years on the ITV soap, Ellie's character took on huge stories, including teenage pregnancy as well as also going through early menopause.
Now, she's at the centre of rebuilding a relationship with her daughter, Miley, who she fell pregnant with at the age of 12.
Following the birth of Miley (named after Miley Cyrus), Faye struggled to bond with her daughter and she eventually goes to live with her dad, Jackson, who initially denied being her dad.
Ellie is set to depart the soap this upcoming summer with a storyline that has been kept under lock and key by those on the soap.
However, it is believed her character won't be killed off so she could make a return one day.
But weeks before it was announced she was leaving, Ellie and photographer James Melia took to Instagram to share a string of headshots suggesting she was looking for more work.
In the snaps, the actress opted for a more au natural look to showcase her natural beauty in its best to potential directors and casting agents.
Her soon-to-be former co-stars flocked to the comment section to gush over the Bury-born star, with Georgia Taylor penning: "Ooh yes! So natural and stunning, darling."
"What a beautiful picture," gushed Sally Dynevor.
While her real-life cousin and former on-screen sister-in-law Brooke Vincent added: "Beautiful girl."
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "Ellie's been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family.
"She's sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won't be killed off.
"She's going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit."
Speaking to the Mirror in 2021, Ellie explained that she couldn't process the thought that she had been on the Manchester-based soap for a decade.
She said: "It is crazy to think it is 10 years, it has gone so fast but I also feel like I have been there my whole life.
"For what time I can remember, Corrie has been my life, as a child, you just can't believe it, you don't really know at that age what is happening."
Coronation Street declined to comment when approached by the Mirror.
