Coronation Street could see wedding bells toll this Christmas on the cobbles, as long as Tyrone Dobbs manages to get his plans back on track.
The mechanic proposed to girlfriend Fiz Stape after the pair rekindled their romance earlier this year and has now put in place plans to surprise his fiancée with their nuptials over the festive season.
However, ITV spoilers have now revealed that his bride-to-be goes missing on the big day, leaving Tyrone, played by Alan Halsall, on the verge of a botched plan.
The storyline kicks off on Christmas Day, when Fiz, played by Jenny McAlpine, is growing increasingly frustrated when she opens a present to find a box of chocolates and a keyring.
Disappointed, she begins to believe the spark between her and Tyrone is dimming – completely unaware of the wedding spectacular he has in store as he shares a secret grin with the girls, Hope and Ruby.
In later scenes the trio descend the stairs in their wedding outfits intent on surprising Fiz, only to discover she is nowhere to be found.
When they get downstairs, they only discover a note on the table from Fiz, saying she has left to buy a turkey for dinner.
Tyrone panics as he watches his plan slowly fall through and when he then calls Fiz’s phone in a panic, he discovers she has unfortunately left it at home.
Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown try to help by instructing him to head to the hotel while Bernie Winter and Dev Alahan wait for Fiz, to no avail.
A heartbroken Tyrone is forced to tell the guests that it looks like the wedding is off, prompting the attendees to decamp to the Rovers to, at the very least, tuck into the buffet.
Meanwhile, Fiz's car breaks down on a country road and she realises she has no phone to reach out to anybody.
She sets off on foot to look for a phone box, in the hopes of letting Tyrone know where she is.
Instead, she finds a passing walker named Chris to whom she explains her predicament – will he help her?
Will she make it in time to marry Tyrone? And how will she react to his surprise wedding?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
