This week's Coronation Street is set to have viewers on the edge of their seats as drama unfolds on the cobbles.
Earlier this month on the ITV soap, the real Crystal was revealed to be in a coma but this week the game appears to finally be up for Daisy Midgeley as the penny drops for Ryan Connor.
Rover's barmaid Daisy has been texting Ryan, pretending to be a former love interest and Ibiza club promoter Crystal following the life-changing acid attack by Justin Rutherford on Daisy's wedding day, writes the Manchester Evening News.
However, her messages to Ryan stopped after Daisy's stalker Justin was found guilty of the previously mentioned life-changing attack. Amidst the trial, Daisy stopped messaging Ryan as Crystal and it wasn't long before he was worried that something was wrong.
It was when Ryan told Carla that a post online confirmed Crystal was in a coma after an accident. But as he rushed to gather more information, he began receiving new messages from 'Crystal' and he devastatingly realised he was being catfished.
In tonight's episode, Ryan speaks to Max, who reveals that it was him who gave Daisy's phone to her fiance Daniel Osbourne when he heard Ryan's voicemail when he became really ill with sepsis amid his recovery.
It is then that Ryan realises it wasn’t Crystal he’d been talking to, it was Daisy, and the news comes after they kissed for a second time.
Ryan then confronts Daisy who desperately tries to explain how after the attack, Crystal made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with him and only did it to protect his feelings.
Elsewhere, Adam Barlow is taken for a belated Father’s Day meal at Speed Daal by wife Sarah and son Harry following her affair bombshell. But when Damon Hay calls in, they’re both on edge. Sarah is thrilled when Adam pulls her in for a kiss.
She's then disheartened when she notices that Adam is glancing at Damon and soon realises it was just for show and Damon pretends to not be bothered by their closeness.
Dee-Dee Bailey then discovers Adam trawling through Paul Foreman's file looking for dirt on Damon. Dee-Dee’s furious and grabs the file.
As Damon tells Nick he’s booked an appointment with the Head of the Weatherfield Market Association to discuss a potential pitch for the bistro, Adam manages to suss out information from an unsuspecting Paul about the car theft scam.
Elsewhere on the cobbles, Max will be seen with Bec, linking arms as they head down the street laughing and it leaves Alya Nazir reeling and when Bec then wants to go to Speed Daal, Max panics.
Later Shona Platt tells Max that if he’s truthful with Bec about his past, she will accept him and appreciate his honesty. After the chat, Max goes to meet Bec but when Alya gets in first, in Friday, June 23's episode Bec confronts a mortified Max, asking him when he was planning to tell her that he’s a terrorist.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
