Coronation Street will air at different times this week in an ITV schedule shake-up.
The ITV soap has had some dramatic storylines as of late, with Kelly Neelan's exit and the gun showdown between kidnapper Kieron, Gary Windass and Aadi Alahan as well as Stephen Reid's brutal murder of Leo Thompkins. Whilst the police continue to investigate what happened on the rooftop, and the truth about Stephen and Leo is still hidden, there's lots to look forward to on Corrie.
However, fans tuning into the show this Friday will be disappointed - as it won't be airing towards the end of the week. The schedule change is due to the international women's football, which will be broadcasted on Friday night instead.
Corrie fans usually get three episodes a week, one on Monday for an hour, followed by an hour episode on Wednesday and a third on Friday. Instead, due to the sporting coverage, the soap will now air differently this week.
The first episode will air as usual on Monday, the second episode will be moved from its Wednesday slot a day earlier to be broadcasted on Tuesday, whilst the third episode will air at 8pm on Wednesday. No episode of Coronation Street will air on Friday.
It comes after Corrie boss Iain MacLeod teased more drama ahead for Todd Boyce's character, Stephen.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, he said: "He will continue to get more and more desperate and more and more dark as the story unfolds. The beauty of his character really is that he's got this huge longevity in terms of his connection to the show and to a heritage family, but actually he is a bit of a blank canvas.
"If you think back through his archive scenes, we don't really know a lot about him. So we thought well, actually, if we're gonna fill in those blanks and we're gonna learn more about him shouldn't we make him dark, dangerous, interesting and scheming?"
Elsewhere, Iain vowed that Stephen won't cause any physical harm to Audrey, despite his killer past.
"Audrey obviously will be a large part of the story. She won't come to be in any physical Jeopardy, I should say. But emotionally, the stakes are incredibly high, because she's put all of her sort of maternal eggs in Stephens basket," he added.
