Summer Spellman will reveal that she is pregnant after Todd Grimshaw makes a bombshell discovery on Coronation Street next week.
The teen, played by Harriet Bibby, has gone through a difficult year after struggling over her diabetes diagnosis and failing one of her A-Levels, leading to her dropping out of university.
Summer and her boyfriend Aaron have also been on rocky ground - despite a brief moment the pair were left giggling over space brownies. Aaron was left blaming himself on Monday after his dad landed in hospital following a house fire. His alcoholic and abusive dad had bombarded him with texts beforehand, but he had ignored them.
Later on this week, Summer begs him to share his burden, but Aaron insists he needs to focus on her dad.
To take her mind off things, Billy volunteers Summer to help at a charity clothes swap event and she is helped by Asha and Nina. Summer goes quiet, however, when she spots Aaron walk past.
While in the cafe, Gemma shows off a jacket she bought at the clothes swap but when she heads to the loo, her phone rings. Chesney grabs the jacket and a pregnancy test falls out, but he's relieved when she says the test isn't hers.
A number of other residents come under scrutiny, including Daisy and Carla, but Paul finally recognises the jacket is Summer's and - when they're alone - asks her about the test.
She confides in Paul that she and Aaron are back together and they'll make a decision about the pregnancy together.
Later, Esther invites her for lunch at the Rovers to thank her for her charity work and she and Aaron realise that Billy has also been invited.
When Paul also arrives, he makes a comment about her condition and Billy quickly realises that Summer is pregnant, prompting her to run out of the pub.
Esther manages to catch up with Summer in Victoria Garden and explains that she and Mike can't have children, saying that she would be willing to adopt the baby.
When Summer tells Aaron he's shocked and as she voices her concerns about pregnancy and diabetes and the problems she would face, Aaron realises the enormity of the situation.
Summer later returns home to find Billy, Todd and Paul speaking about her pregnancy and body issues....
