Coronation Street star Alex Bain has said an emotional goodbye to a co-star after scenes that aired on Friday.
The episode continued to explore Jacob Hay's fractured relationship with his dad, Damon. The character, played by Jack James Ryan, had turned his life around and seemed to be happy with his lot, when Damon reappeared and shook things up.
First he told Jacob to quit his enjoyable job at Underworld, promising him a much higher-paid job at the Bistro.

But it soon emerged there were more to Damon's intentions than securing his son a better job, and Jacob was forced to re-enter the murky world of drug dealing.
Wednesday's episode saw Jacob come dangerously close to being caught with the drug package, and he ended up flushing it down the toilet. On Friday, viewers watched as Damon ordered Jacob to leave the street.
As Jacob is in a steady relationship with Amy Barlow, many soap fans were taken aback as he followed his dad's orders and fled.
After the episode went out, Jack James shared a snap of himself in the studio on Instagram, adding: "That’s all folks. Jacob Hay over and out, I’m gonna miss you brother! @coronationstreet x"
Simon Barlow actor Alex Bain was quick to share a tribute. He said: "Gonna miss you so much man! Go out there and keep smashing it as always buddy! [crying emoji]". Jack James replied: "my brother, always x".
Other Corrie stars were also quick to comment on the post. Kate Ford, who plays Tracy Barlow said: "Will miss you x", while Sam Blakeman star Jude Riordan said: "Jack I'll miss you lots! Can't wait to see what you do next. Come back and say hi".
