Coronation Street's Ryan Connor set for exit as he faces prison after fake robbery

Ryan Connor's exit from Coronation Street appears to be inevitable as he faces prison next week.

The hapless bartender, played by Ryan Prescott, had hoped to turn his fortune around by participating in an insurance scam with Debbie Webster.

By staging a fake robbery, he was hoping to use the money he'd be paid by Debbie to allow him to return back to Ibiza and buy a share in a business.

However, he ended up being caught and now faces a lengthy jail sentence.

Next week, Ryan is charged and told to attend the magistrates' court the next day, while Craig confirms that the CCTV footage is damning evidence against him.

Ryan later tells Debbie that they should stage fake CCTV footage of a masked gunman forcing him to rob the bistro, but she refuses to cooperate.

Ronnie finds Ryan trying to fix the camera in the Bistro himself and advises him to accept his punishment.

On Wednesday, Ronnie supports Ryan at the magistrates' court as he enters a guilty plea.

His plea is accepted by the district judge and he awaits sentencing...

Elsewhere, Stu Carpenter is rushed to hospital as his secret is exposed.

Viewers watched last week as Stu visited his daughter Bridget for the first time in years, though it wasn't a happy reunion.

He previously alluded to the reason why she is scared of him and no longer speaks to him, with Stu telling his daughter: "I didn't hurt that girl."

It's not yet clear who or what Stu is referring to, though it's all revealed this week - leading Yasmin to break up with him.

Next week, Kelly is disgusted over what she's read on social media about Stu and Zeedan returns from his holiday.

Alya brings her brother up to date on what's happened and admits she's worried about the effect the bombshell is having on Yasmeen...
