Coronation Street's Rebecca Ryan finally gets married after cancelling wedding twice

Former Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan has revealed she enjoyed the 'best day' of her life as she tied the knot to Dan Acraman.

The actress, 31, played Lydia Chambers on the popular ITV soap and made the gushing announcement on Instagram on Tuesday, much to the delight of her followers.

She shared a snap of herself and Dan on their big day and captioned it: "Husband and Wife. 24.09.22 - The best day of our lives!"

The black-and-white image saw Dan leader his bride down a pebbled road in a smart dinner suit while holding a wine glass. Rebecca looked stunning in a large princess skirt by Vera Wang which she perfectly complemented with a pearl tiara.

Among those sending congratulatory messages was Mollie Gallagher, who plays Nina Lucas on the Weatherfield cobbles. She wrote: "Awww congratulations," followed by three love heart emojis.

And Sally Carman - who stars as Abi Franklin on Corrie and Kelly Maguire on Shameless - said: " Oh my darling, you look so beautiful! Congratulations!!"

Earlier in the year Rebecca revealed that Coronation Street bosses had no idea that she was related to the actor who plays drug dealer Jacob Hay on the soap.

She said a the time: "Nobody at Coronation Street had any idea. When I joined, I’d be talking to people and say, ‘Oh, yeah, my brother works here’. And they’d go, ‘Really, who’s your brother? What? Jack!’.

"It’s a dream come true to be working on the show at the same time, but it’s a total coincidence."

She also teased that she could return to her role in the soap in the future after exiting as Adam finally admitted and apologised for what he did to her when they were students at university after she pushed him over the balcony in harrowing scenes.

Rebecca said: "I think now we have have that redemption, people have seen she is not just this crazy woman just doing it for no reason, it would be good to explore it a bit more. And what she is really like as a person, I’d love to do it!"
