Filming has kicked off for the new installment of much-loved sci-fi television show Doctor Who and, as usual, it has returned to Wales with its new stars embracing Welsh life to the max. So much so that the new assistant to Doctor Who, who will be played by Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa, has branded herself a 'Cardiff resident'.
Millie Gibson is best known for playing Kelly Neelan in the long-running much loved soap Coronation Street, and left earlier this year after being involved in explosive storylines such as Seb Franklin's murder, Asha Alahan's viral images drama and discovering her guardian Gary Windass murdered her father, but in November 2022, it was announced that she would be taking on the time traveling companion role of Ruby Sunday, who will be assisting the 15th Doctor.
Her co-star Ncuti was revealed as the next Doctor in mid-October and yesterday, December 5, the official Doctor Who Twitter confirmed his episodes had stated filming.

Taking to Twitter to reveal that filming had in fact begun to her 18K followers, Millie posted a picture of a bunch of flowers in her new Welsh abode with a card that had two heart emojis followed by a plus and diamond sign.
Alongside the picture, she wrote: "First day… officially a Cardiff resident ;) @bbcdoctorwho"
Fans of the 18-year-old actress soon flooded her comments, wishing her a warm Welsh welcome.
User @thewhoaddicts wrote: "Best of luck Millie! I’m sure you’re gunna absolutely SMASH IT!", while @ian_hamer said: "Croeso i Gaerdydd, Millie!"
A third, @babycakescardif, commented: "Welcome to Cardiff, you must try welsh cakes !"
