Last week Coronation Street viewers watched Laura confront Gary after being told by a private investigator they believe Rick is dead and Gary is the last person to have seen him alive.
Gary admitted to killing Rick in self-defence after the former loan shark tried to harm his then-girlfriend Sarah Platt and her children. Initially planning to report him to the police, Laura, who is terminally ill, reconsidered when she realised he will need to be there for her daughter Kelly.
As they made their way home, police were already waiting to make an arrest and saw Laura and not Gary being escorted away in handcuffs. Soon, fans will see Laura do everything in her power to convince the police she murdered Rick in order to protect Gary and set up a future for her daughter.

Kel, who plays Laura Neelan, made her first appearance in the ITV soap two years ago has already filmed her final scenes. When asked what it was like, she said: "Oh my god, it's emotional. I get emotional and start filling up just thinking about it. Begging Laura for time to speak to his wife, they set off in tears.
"What a way to go. When they asked me to come back for this final storyline I couldn’t believe it, it was too good to turn down. As an actor to get your teeth stuck into something so heart-breaking, dramatic and even with humour thrown in is just incredible. It's been three years in the running and people have been desperate for the truth to come out but I don't think they were expecting that twist. Because of that twist, the death scenes when they come are even more emotionally charged."
Kel, praised her time in Weatherfield, saying the character's story was "brilliant" and she loved making relationships with her castmates. She said "For me it has been an incredible job playing a brilliant character and being part of a storyline that has really engaged the audience," she said. "The biggest thing I have taken from it is the relationships with the people there.
"Milie is incredible, such a talented actor and she is the daughter I never had. I knew Georgia [Taylor - who plays Toyah Battersby] before I joined as we trained together many years ago so it has been brilliant working with her again. Also I loved working with Samia [Longchambon], Charlie [De Melo] and Mikey [North], we are like one big family and I feel blessed to be part of that and I will never forget this experience."
