Coronation Street's Kym Marsh 'excited' as daughter shares career update

Kym Marsh enjoyed a "big day" as her daughter Emilie began to record her debut album.

The former Corrie star, 45, shares Emilie, 25, and son David, 27, with Dave Cunliffe - with whom she was in a relationship before she rose to fame. She also has a daughter, Polly, with Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas.

She and Jamie, who she was married to from 2012 to 2014, also had a son called Archie who was born 18 weeks early and tragically died moments after birth. Kym's first grandchild, Teddy, was born in May 2019.

Kym found stardom after competing in Popstars: The Rivals and winning a place in pop band Hear'Say. Their first single went to number one in 2001, and Kym later enjoyed a solo career before turning to acting.

She starred in Doctors before finding huge success on Coronation Street. Kym, who was born in Whiston, played Michelle Connor on the soap for 13 years.

Now, the mum-of-four has spoken of "big things to come" as Emilie follows in her singing footsteps. Sharing a post on Instagram, she said Emilie was recording an album.

A photo showed Kym and Emilie in a London studio. Emilie wore headphones as she and her mum smiled for the snap. Fans were quick to comment on the post.
