Rita urges her to talk to Dr Gaddas. But continuing to press on, Daniel Osbourne and Michael Bailey will be seen dropping their kids Bertie and Glory at No.5 for the day. As they leave, an exhausted Gemma surveys the room full of kids, wondering how she’s going to cope.
Having heard about the antidepressants from Chesney, Bernie offers to help for an hour while Gemma goes to the café. But when Beth Sutherland tears a strip off Gemma for slacking, she rushes home, fighting back tears.
Overwhelmed and exhausted, Gemma briefly closes her eyes and when she does, Bertie empties her bag and finds the pack of antidepressants. As Daniel and Daisy arrive they’re unimpressed to find Gemma asleep on the sofa. But they are soon all horrified as they realise that Bertie has eaten the tablets.
Actress Dolly-Rose Campbell, who plays Gemma, recently opened up about working with the soap's youngest members of the cast as her character is a mum to quads - Aled, Bryn, Carys and Llio - as well as step-mum to Chesney's son Joseph.
Asked what scenes are like to film with all the children, and if they are hectic, the soap star tole the Manchester Evening News and other press: "Yes, yes they are hectic. It's a lot to have five children on set. Will's a bit older, he's been doing it for longer and he's getting used to it now but the four little ones cause chaos."
She then said with hesitation: "It's fun..." before adding: "Sam [Aston, who plays Chesney] is very skilled with children and I'm really grateful he is there."
