Coronation Street's Emma Taylor actress Angela Lonsdale eyes up Emmerdale role

Former Coronation Street star Angela Lonsdale may return to the world of soaps.

The actress, best known for playing Emma Taylor, the wife of Curly Watts on the cobbles from 2000 to 2003, has also starred in Channel 4's Hollyoaks. She has also had parts in Doctors and Holby City.

But now, Angela has admitted she would love to nab a part in a yet another soap. And, Emmerdale seems to be next on her radar.

Speaking to Inside Soap, when asked about Emmerdale, she said: "I wouldn't say no! I've been up there a few times and been close to getting a few parts – I wouldn't be opposed to joining another soap. It's nice to be part of a family, that's what I love about it."

Speaking of her previous soap roles, she said: "I've been on so many now! I was in Corrie for years, then Doctors, and I did Holby City. I think I'm used to that way of working.

"Often in soap you do one take and move on, I like working like that. I think once you act in a soap you can do anything."

Emmerdale will be marking its 50th anniversary this month as three beloved characters will return after the village will be forever transformed by a devastating storm.

Aaron Dingle, Diane Sugden and Tracy Metcalfe will temporarily return to the village for the anniversary episodes. Producer Kate Brooks told the ECHO : "They'll be at the heart of some really big stories that will impact their lives and the lives of the characters they will leave behind."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, and streams on the ITV Hub.
