Coronation Street’s Emma Brooker leaves Weatherfield despite Amy Barlow’s pleas

Coronation Street’s resident hairdresser is set to leave the cobbles on Friday after finding herself unable to cope with the bombshell news that Steve McDonald is her real dad.

The bubbly teen, played by Alexandra Mitchell, will pack her bags and leave Weatherfield after learning mum Fiona Middleton has been lying to her.

Emma will leave Corrie after blaming her boss Audrey Roberts for keeping her in the dark about her paternity.

The show’s fans will already know that Audrey was one of the first people to realise that Steve was potentially Emma’s biological dad.

Audrey was left stunned when she looked at Emma’s phone to find the picture of Emma’s mum that flashes up is that of Fiona Middleton – a former cobbles hairdresser who is Steve's ex-girlfriend.

Putting one and one together, a shell-shocked Audrey told Steve’s mum Liz about her discovery but did not inform Emma of her suspicions.

Around the same time, Emma was told that the man she believed to be her dad told her he wasn’t, leaving her world upside down.

Feeling unable to trust anyone in Weatherfield anymore, Emma packs her things and announces she is leaving.

She ignores the pleas of her new-found sister Amy Barlow, sticking to her decision.

Emma says goodbye to friends Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown, as well as flatmate Maria Connor.

Outraged at the events that have unfolded, Amy tells Steve and her mum Tracy to bring Emma back because she is family.

In Friday’s second episode, Amy and Tracy are seen heading off to find Emma before she leaves the cobbles, persuading the teens friends to reveal where she has gone.

They eventually find the traumatised teen at the station platform, leaving fans wondering if they will succeed in stopping her leaving.
