Coronation Street's Colson Smith reveals major transformation in throwback snap to celebrate nine years on soap

Coronation Street's Colson Smith looks nearly unrecognisable to the boy who appeared on the cobbles nine years ago.

The Craig Tinker actor is celebrating nine years on the ITV soap and took to Instagram with a throwback snap of his first appearance.

Colson, now 21, joined the soap as a fresh-faced 12-year-old as the son of Beth Sutherland.

And he hasn't looked back since.

Sharing the baby face picture with his followers, Colson wrote: "9 years of Craig Tinker. 5th August 2011. #Tinks."

Corrie co-stars and fans have flooded the post with comments.

Sally Anne Matthews, who plays Jenny Connor, said: "Grandma can still squeeze those skinny cheeks (from two metres and in full ppe) x"

Former star Katie McGlynn, who played Colson's on-screen cousin Sinead Tinker, wrote: "Look at you Cuz!! #babyface."

A fan questioned: "Wow! That really you???"

And another added: "Biggest glow up of the decade!"

The nearly 10-year-old picture also shows how far Colson has come following his huge body transformation.

As the soap halted filming due to the coronavirus pandemic in March, the actor used the time off to embark on a gruelling fitness regime.

Colson has been sharing pictures of his toned-down figure on Instagram and keeping followers updated on his fitness journey.

Now back at work, Colson joked that he'd need a 'fat suit' as he'll look completely different to where the character left off.
