Colson Smith has revealed he is set to take the next step in his fitness journey.

The soap star is renowned for his role as PC Craig Tinker on the long-running ITV show. Colson first appeared on the show when he was 12 years old and quickly became one of the Cobbles' most beloved characters.

The 24-year-old wowed fans when he showed off the results of his 10 stone weight loss after he overhauled his lifestyle. Colson previously told the ECHO how he implemented the changes and started running during the lockdown.

He said: "I made changes before the lockdown but when it hit, all work stopped and it's the first time ever that Corrie has actually stopped. I was in a flat in Media City and I went back to live with my parents.

"It was the first time since I was 12 years old that I didn't have a job and didn't have anything to do so I kind of thought to myself 'what's important to me' and 'what do I want from life'. That's kind of where I decided to put myself forward and start this fitness journey.

"I started running, looking after myself and taking more interest in it. Now it's just part of my life that I'm grateful that I've got because I definitely feel like I've changed for the better."

Colson is about to take on the ultimate challenge after he announced he has signed up for the Stockholm marathon. The soap actor confirmed on Instagram he will be jetting off to to the Swedish capital for the running event on June 3.

He said: "Sooooo… I’m finally running a marathon! Stockholm 2023. Seems the obvious next step on my fitness journey right?!?

"Over the next few months as I structure my weekly running into a plan ahead of the marathon, I’m going to start sharing a lot more of my runs on here with you! See you in Stockholm!"

Fans took to the comments to wish Colson luck.

Katie said: "Go on cols. So proud of you."

Annie added: "Superstar."

Kim commented: "You are incredible. Such an inspiration."

Carly posted: "Wow that will be a fabulous achievement good luck"
