Coronation Street's Charlotte Jordan has said she is "overwhelmed" by the response to last night's dramatic episode.
The soap star is renowned for her role as Daisy Midgeley in the long-running ITV show. The character has endured a turbulent time in the Cobbles since she was targeted by a stalker named Justin.
The storyline reached its darkest point last night as Justin's obsession sparked him to commit a horrific acid attack on Daisy's wedding day. However, the attack did not go to plan as Ryan Connor saved Daisy in disturbing scenes in last night's show.

Charlotte has taken to Instagram to share some behind the scene snaps and said she has been blown away by the response to the distressing storyline. She said: "Feel quite overwhelmed with all the messages about last nights Corrie. So many people to thank for delivering episodes on such a sensitive and unfortunately, prevalent subject matter.
"It really is a team effort and wanted to say thank you for watching, even when it’s hard."
Fans flooded the comments to praise Charlotte for her performance and said she should be in line for award recognition for her portrayal through a distressing storyline.
Declan said: "You're amazing last night, a standing ovation. Hope this will be recognised in time with many awards."
Stella added: "Your acting performance in last night’s episode was truly amazing, I was crying along with you!"
