Coronation Street’s 'bunny boiler' Lydia attacks Adam in 'deadly' showdown ahead of exit

Coronation Street’s Fatal Attraction-style Adam Barlow and Lydia Chambers drama is set to come to a shocking conclusion in upcoming scenes, which could prove “deadly” for the lawyer.

While details of how Lydia’s (Rebecca Ryan) ‘bunny boiler’ storyline will pan out have been kept under wraps, it has been teased that the university exes will become embroiled in a tense showdown.

Lydia has been frank with Adam in detailing her malicious intentions, especially in wreaking havoc on his marriage to wife Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), but has yet to explain the past wrong Adam (Sam Robertson) supposedly did to her at university to spur on the sinister scheme.

Lydia has so far successfully set Adam up to make it look as though they were having an affair, resulting in Sarah kicking him out and ignoring his insistent version of events.

Having upended his personal life, Lydia is now set to take aim at his professional life as she seems to be the obvious culprit of the malicious messages online about his conduct.

The soap will air the dramatic showdown later this month (ITV)

Adam will hit rock bottom this week as his job as a lawyer comes under fire when comments appear online trashing him as a solicitor, forcing him to come clean about the entire situation to his colleague and friend Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo).

But when a huge client then decides to take their business elsewhere after seeing the damning online review - likely from vengeful ex-girlfriend Lydia - Imran is placed in a difficult position and Adam faces fresh horror.

As the possibility of losing his job raises its head, Adam decides to step down from the company until the dire situation has been resolved.

But Lydia’s revenge is set to reach a frightening conclusion after weeks of tormenting Adam, as ITV spoilers reveal the pair will come to physical blows in upcoming scenes.

The soap will air the dramatic showdown later this month, in the wake of Lydia’s destruction of Adam’s marriage and career.

The pivotal showdown will finally give ‘bunny boiler’ Lydia the moment to take her final act of revenge as the truth of their past comes tumbling out into the open.

A heated row ensues and spoiler photos of the scene show that when an emotional Lydia lashes out at a seemingly unrepentant Adam, Lydia sees red.

His aggrieved ex will resort to a violent shove, which will see Adam fall over a first floor railing, crashing to the floor below.

As a bloodied and unconscious Adam lays on the ground, has he paid the ultimate price for their mysterious past? And will Lydia finally be unmasked to Adam’s estranged wife Sarah and the police?

This comes as Coronation Street newcomer Rebecca Ryan has finished filming with the ITV soap, ahead of an exciting end to her character Lydia Chambers' dark storyline.

The character will bow out of the soap amid dramatic scene, after joining late last year to bring trouble to the door of her ex Adam.

The dramatic Coronation Street showdown scenes will air on Monday, March 21 on ITV.
